Lakefront town and steep upper benches. You get the output, rebate and payback numbers in writing before you commit to anything.
Solar That Makes Sense in Peachland
Peachland runs from the lakefront along Beach Avenue up to steep benches with open sky. The two ends need different thinking. Waterfront homes tend to have mature trees and older roofs, while bench homes are newer, with great exposure. Peachland shares the Westbank substation, so it is BC Hydro territory and the full rebate applies.
It also shares the Westside’s single-line supply, so Peachland feels the same outages West Kelowna does. Battery backup comes up in most conversations here.
Call 250-250-2525 and tell us roughly what your monthly bill is. That is usually enough to tell whether solar is worth pursuing at your address. If it isn’t, we will say so instead of booking a visit to tell you in person.

Utility & rebates
Which Utility Serves Peachland?
The south end of our area has two utilities. Peachland and the Trepanier benches are BC Hydro, supplied from the Westbank substation, so the full solar and battery rebates apply. Summerland, including Trout Creek, runs its own municipal electric utility with its own interconnection rules, and BC Hydro’s rebates don’t apply there. For a Peachland property we confirm which one serves you before sizing anything.
On BC Hydro, new systems since July 1, 2026 go on the self-generation rate: exports are credited at 10¢/kWh and power you use yourself saves 11.87–14.08¢. On Summerland’s utility, the District’s own terms apply, which we confirm for your address. Either way, sizing to your real use is what protects the payback. BC Hydro rebate guide
Assessment
What We Look at on a Peachland Property
Before we give you a number, four things get measured. Any one of them can change the answer.
Roof planes and direction
Every usable roof plane is measured for direction and pitch. On many Peachland homes the best layout is split across two planes, which affects the inverter choice and the price.
Shade, hour by hour
Pines, neighbouring homes above you on the slope and the hills around Peachland can all shade a roof. Shade on a few panels can pull down the rest, so we model it through the day and across the seasons.
A year of power bills
Twelve months of usage is the most important number. Under the 2026 self-generation rate, solar you use yourself is worth more than solar you export, so your use sets the system size.
Your electrical panel
Some panels need an upgrade before solar or a battery can connect, usually $2,000 to $4,500. We check this during the survey, so it is in your Peachland quote and not a surprise on install day.
Pricing
What Solar Costs in Peachland
With the full rebate in Peachland and Trepanier and none in Summerland, the net figure depends on your utility. A starter system runs from about $9,200 installed, and a typical family home lands between $13,800 and $24,000 before any rebate.
| System size | Suits | Installed from | After BC Hydro rebate | Est. output / yr | Est. saving yr 1 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 kW | Small home or partial offset | from $9,200 | $5,200 | ~4,600 kWh | ~$530 |
| 6 kW | 1,500–2,000 sq ft home | from $13,800 | $8,800 | ~6,900 kWh | ~$790 |
| 8 kW | 2,000–2,800 sq ft home | from $18,400 | $13,400 | ~9,200 kWh | ~$1,060 |
| 10 kW+ | Large home, heat pump or EV | from $23,000 | $18,000 | ~11,500 kWh+ | ~$1,320+ |
Rebate $1,000/kW up to $5,000, capped at 50% of cost. Savings at about 11.5¢/kWh blended under BC Hydro’s 2026 rates. Your Peachland figure depends on orientation, shade, panel count and your electrical service.
