Homeowners
BC Hydro pays up to $5,000 toward a home system here, and a well-sized array cuts the part of your bill that keeps rising. Add a battery and the lights stay on when the Westside goes dark.
West Kelowna is BC Hydro territory: up to $5,000 back on solar, up to $5,000 on a battery. How the rebate works
About us
Westside sun. Your power, on your terms.
Solar Panels West Kelowna helps property owners on the Westside spend less on electricity and rely less on a grid that goes down more often than it should. We work with homeowners, businesses and off-grid owners from Peachland and Summerland up to the Westside Road communities.
Our customers usually come to us with one of three goals. Homeowners want to know what panels will really cost after the BC Hydro rebate, and when they pay for themselves. Businesses, wineries and orchards want lower bills on big roofs and power that stays on through the busy season. Rural and off-grid owners along Westside Road and in the hills above Bear Creek need a system that carries them without a line from the road.
For all three we start the same way: with your numbers, not our hardware.
Who we help
BC Hydro pays up to $5,000 toward a home system here, and a well-sized array cuts the part of your bill that keeps rising. Add a battery and the lights stay on when the Westside goes dark.
Big roofs, spare land and heavy daytime cooling load. Wineries on the Boucherie and Lakeview benches, orchards and Highway 97 businesses are some of the best commercial solar sites in BC.
Cabins and acreages up Westside Road and behind Glenrosa, lots where the line-extension quote came back huge. We design battery and generator systems that run on their own all year.
Before anyone mentions panel brands, we work out the figures. We look at a year of your BC Hydro bills, measure your roof or ground space, check orientation and shade, and apply the current rebate and self-generation rules. Then you get the system size, expected output, rebate, backup capability and payback year, in writing.
Sometimes the numbers don’t work: a north-facing roof, heavy pine shade, or a bill too small to offset. When that happens we tell you. It costs us a job, but it saves you 25 years with a system that under-delivers, and people remember who gave them the honest answer.

Installations are carried out by our own team and by our vetted local contractor partners. All of them are licensed electricians and installers who pull the permits, file the BC Hydro paperwork and commission each system to BC Hydro’s interconnection requirements.
We are upfront about this because it is how good trade work gets done in a region this size, and because it means your crew knows Westside roofs, hillside access, summer heat and plateau snow. One thing doesn’t change: you keep one point of contact from the first estimate to switch-on.
Values
BC Hydro changed how exported power is credited in July 2026. Every figure we give you uses the rules in force today.
Exports now earn 10¢/kWh. Covering the whole roof just because it is there is the most common way people overspend on solar.
On a grid fed by a single line, a battery-ready design is part of doing the job properly.
Including “not on this roof”.
A free estimate starts with a short phone call. No pressure, no obligation, and a straight answer either way.
